Perceptual Computing

Perceptual computing lets users ditch the mouse and keyboard and control computers with gesture, eye motions, and voice. Take a look at the above video and you'll understand what I am talking about. YES! No mouse, keyboard, just hands, gestures, voice. Its like talking, living and interacting with computers.

At CES, intel announced some new ways they’re moving forward with perceptual computing including face recognition and head tracking. It’s all available with the Intel Perceptual Computing SDK, a library of pattern detection and recognition algorithm implementations exposed through standardized interfaces.

The Creative Interactive Gesture Camera (pictured above) allows developers to create the next generation of natural, immersive software applications with close-range hand tracking, speech recognition, face analysis and 2D/3D object tracking on Ultrabook™ devices.

So, can we say this is the beginning of future computing ?
