The internet giant google has launched its new smartphone nexus 5 manufactured by LG recently in India . Many webies* are talking about it and the phone is in everyone's gossip.

All kinds of post in favour and against the phone can be seen all over the internet, and it may confuse you to make a choice. You don't want to spend Rs 32,999  just to check whether the phone suits you or not. Tech Soul brings you the best review of the phone and helps you to make a better decision.

Coming to the specifications of the phone, the phone has a 4.95 inch 1920x1080 true HD display. The phone runs on a 2.26GHz processor and a 2GB RAM with 8MP main camera and 1.2MP on the front. Available in two storage variants - 16GB and 32GB.

You get android 4.4 KitKat straight out of the box and the best android experience ever. Coming to the price, when compared with other phones like xperia 1, htc one, galaxy S4, the price is comparitively low. 32,999 for 32 GB and 28,999 for 16GB.

See comparision between nexus 5, Xperia Z1, Galaxy S4, HTC One and LG G2
here .

Most of the people complain about its design but I personally feel that the design is acceptable, simple and not very stylish. A perfect mixture of simplicity and style.

Nexus 5 was sold out within hours on google play store after its launch in India and still it is out of the stock, so you have to wait a litle longer if you want the phone.

Another negative point about the phone is its memory. The phone come in two variants 16GB and 32 GB with no slot of microSD card. This can be the major reason to not to opt for this phone, cause we Indians love music and streaming videos. So, if you're buying this phone you need to manage your memory carefully.

Coming to the camera, it consists of very standard 8 MP camera and if you're buying a phone for clicking your awesome moments with friends and family, you should consider other smartphones as well. (If photography is your main aim, then you should go for Nokia lumia range, as they are best when it comes to phone camera.)

Another drawback of the phone is its poor battery life. The Nexus 5 has a sealed 2,300-mAh battery inside. It says the phone offers 17 hours of talk time, 8.5 hours of Wi-Fi Internet time and 7 hours of LTE Internet time. So playing high-end games on this piece, will suck all the juice from your phone and you have to plug it for recharge now and then.

Piyush's saying :

Just like me if you're using your phone for streaming HD videos, storing a large amount of different kind of music, capturing funny moments, always on facebook and not like to charge it every day, then you should not opt for this phone.

If you're an android developer this is the best phone to test your applications or if you're a big android phan (*fan) then you can consider this phone but at the cost of poor battery life and standard camera quality.

If you're in love with racing games, you'll find this game better than anything else in the world and if you're not, you'll fall in love with this game. I am talking about the new asphalt 8: Airborne by Gameloft.

Asphalt 8 is an arcade style racing game for mobile platform with tons of high performance cars, exotic locations, and ramps all around the track which lets you fly in the air, perform eye catching stunts and defy gravity.

With cars like lambo, buggatis, and jaw-dropping graphics this game deserves a place in your phone's memory.

If you like playing games on your smart phones and tabs instead of a PC you're in a good luck. The game costs you $1.99 ( 100 INR ) on windows 8 and 8.1 but if you're having an android or iOS phone you can get it for free. You have to pay a dollar if you want the game on your windows phone. I still don't understand thier biased descision.

Real - time collision, amazing graphics, great cars, and a high adrenaline rush all this and much more without spending a penny, is like dream come true.

Download it now :

  1. android (free)
  2. iOS (free)
  3. windows 8 ($ 2)
  4. windows phone ($ 0.99)

You're still reading this, OK. There are 8 levels or season as they call it. The rule is simple you win races and you level up. Starting with welcome (season 1) and ending with airborne (season 8). I don't want to ruin your experience so go get the game now and start playing.

Oh, c'mon. you're still here? I'll be glad if you share this blog with your friends, Thank you !

Like racing games : this may interest you - goo.gl/7i3wl3 - Gran Turismo 6
Garn Turismo has always been one of my favourite racing games and the latest version Gran Turismo 6 is about to come shortly. Obviously it'll present a great racing experience but the amazing part is, it'll use GPS to use real roads as racing track in the game. Yes ! now you can race on the road you drive daily. Amazing, isn't it?

Gran Turismo 6

This will happen with the help of GPS tracking, via a smartphone app that'll be launched just after the launch of the game. All you need to do is turn on the app while you're driving on real roads. The app will locate your positions and record all elevation changes. Basically any road can be replicated in the game and shared with friends. So that, even they can race on your track (in your kingdom! ).

But this great feature come with some limitations :
  1. The road side scenery will be randomly generated and may not exactly replicate the surroundings in the real world. That means, you won't be able to see your house and nearby location in the game, except the track.
  2. The race track will be limited to 20x20 miles , so you can not race across the country.
Still, with these two drawbacks the game will be amazing and the tracks, even more.

Another features like changing weather and lightening condition will be seriously cool. The game also features a great set of cars including historic cars like BMW 507 '57, Ferrari Dino 246 GT '71, supercars like Cizeta V16T, Pagani Huayra, Sports, Amercian muscles, Futuristice and much more.

WOW !

It'll be amazing to see how well the roads are replicated in the game. We'll find out this for certain when Gran Turismo 6 hits the store on 6th dec '13.

Till then let us know what do you feel about the game in the comments below.

Modern browsers, desktop and mobile

Google has developed an open source web programming language called Dart. Looking at some of the code snippet, it seems that it'll be very easy for those who already have some knowledge of programming labguages like java, etc. but if you are not an experienced programmer, do not worry, Dart can be one of the best language to get into the programming realm. It is easy to learn.

The code is more or less like java and javascript and I believe it can replace javascripts from the web apps in the near future.

Here's a Seth Ladd, developer advocate of Dart project explaining more about the language.

More videos can be found on youtube explaining this object oriented programming language in more depth. You can download dart from the website dartlang.org and explore it.  It was unveiled at the GOTO conference in Aarhus, 2011 October 10–12.The goal of Dart is "ultimately to replace JavaScript as the lingua franca of web development on the open web platform".

Dart is class based, single inheritance, object oriented language having syntax like C.

'Hello world' example :

main() {
    print('Hello World!');
}

A function to calculate the nth Fibonacci number:
int fib(int n) => (n > 1) ? (fib(n - 1) + fib(n - 2)) : n;
main() {
    print('fib(20) = ${fib(20)}');
}

So, will it be your next programming language for your killer apps?
Download Dart now.
