Motorola moto G

Motorola has officialy unveiled thier new phone moto G at an event in Sau Palo, Brazil. This colourful smarty will be available in atleast 30 countries by 60 google partners by 2014. The Google-owned handset maker has announced that the Moto G will be sold through the company's website in the US, with no contract, no SIM lock and an unlockable bootloader at $179 (Rs. 11,300 approx) for the 8GB storage model, while the 16GB variant will be available at $199 (Rs. 12,600 approx). The tough truth is, there's no option for memory expansion. It'll be available in India around Jan'14.

Coming to the specificationsthe Gorilla Glass 3 covered smartphone has a 4.5-inch 1280x720p edge-to-edge display. A great point to note is that the insides of the smartphone has a water-resistant nano-coating which make this phone stand above other phone in its segments.

The phone runs on Snapdragon 400 chipset with a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, Adreno 305 GPU along with 1GB RAM. The smartphone runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean from the get go and Motorola says that the Android 4.4. Kitkat update will be available in January 2014. You get a 5MP camera on the back and the front has a 1.3MP video-calling camera. Similar to the rest of the phones around this budget. A 1950mAh battery powers the entire package.
Motorola had left the Indian market for a while, but they are returning with moto G this new year. A peculiar thing I notice these days are the colours, whether it is budget phone Nokia Asha or the iPhone 5C, they are coming in with vibrant colour options to choose. Following the same trend, moto G is available in a bunch of colours such as red, yellow, blue, and more. Another thing to note is the price. Dennis Woodside, Motorola's CEO himself  said, "Today, we're introducing Moto G, a smartphone that delivers a premium experience for a third of the price of current high-end phones." and I feel this will be true.

I needed a decent phone this new year and I think moto G can get a place in my pocket.
